Universidad del Norte’s Business School invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Finance. The Opportunity
We are seeking a faculty member who will contribute to strengthening the Finance and Accounting Department through a balanced combination of teaching, research, and service.
Primary Duties
· Teach Finance courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including (but not limited to): Capital Markets, International Finance, International Financial Management, Corporate Finance, Derivatives, Business Valuation, among others.
· Maintain an active research agenda consistent with AACSB standards.
· Provide service to the department, school, university, and external stakeholders.
· Support curriculum enhancement, assurance of learning processes, and academic innovation initiatives.
Candidates should:
· Hold a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, Quantitative Methods, or a related field, with clear emphasis in Finance.
· Demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence, pedagogical innovation, and active learning in undergraduate and graduate Finance courses.
· Provide evidence of research productivity, including publications in scientific journals, participation in research projects, and a defined research agenda.
· Show experience teaching Finance courses.
· Demonstrate English proficiency sufficient for teaching, research, and international academic engagement.
· Demonstrate an interest in working collaboratively with colleagues from other disciplines and in connecting their teaching and research to the business and social environment of the Colombian and Caribbean region.
· Professional experience in the financial sector (e.g., capital markets, banking, valuation, risk management, consulting).
· Active industry connections and engagement with the financial ecosystem.
