The Latin American Council of Administration Schools (Consejo Latinoamericano de Escuelas de Administración – CLADEA) celebrated its 50th Anniversary of its foundation during the International Congress CLADEA 2015, held on September 6, 7 and 8 in Viña del Mar – Chile. The host institution of the encounter was the Universidad del Valparaíso.
The event denominated: Asia Pacific: Main Business Focus of the XXI century, A Glimpse for the Education of the Global Economy, brought together more than 450 academics, representatives from Business Schools and Universities of Latin America, North America, Europe and Oceania, who debated the need to implement programs that develop an international profile, as well as a global vision that involves the organization, the environment where it operates and its growth perspectives in the global market. More than 400 papers were received, of which 230 were accepted.
The program included Dean Sessions and Plenary Sessions, such as: “A vision of how to improve business with Asia – Pacific: a business glimpse”, with the participation of Álvaro Echevarría, Director of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council – HKTDC and Fernando Koch, R+D Director in Samsung Research Institute, Brazil; “A state view to improve the level of exchange in Asia-Pacific commercial relationships”, with Aye Mengistu Alemu, Director of the Management department of the Solbridge International School of Business, Woosong University, South Korea; José Gabriel Palma, Professor and researcher of the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom; and Taotao Chen, Professor of the School of Economics and Administration and Director of the Administration Study Center for China and Latin America, Tsinghua University, China.
Additionally, there were conferences related to the main subject of the event, visits to exhibition rooms, presentations of educational service providers and various social and cultural activities. We highlight the presence of the Mayor of Viña del Mar, Virginia Reginato Bozzo, during the inauguration cocktail.
During the Assembly of Members, Dr. Olga Pizarro Stiepovic, Post-Graduate Director of the Universidad del Desarrollo – UDD (Chile), was elected president of CLADEA for the period 2015 – 2016, and Dr. Hilda Arango de Ortega, Dean of the International School of Economic Sciences of the Universidad de la Sabana (Colombia), President elect of CLADEA (2016 – 2017).
In the framework of the event, the XIII Doctoral Colloquium of CLADEA and the XII meeting of the Group of Directors of Information Centers of CLADEA also took place.
