Successfully, Between October 20-22, 2013, the XLVIII International Congress of CLADEA was successfully held in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This event welcomed researchers and academics from important business schools, universities and institutions of Latin America, North America and Europe, members of CLADEA. The main subject of the meeting was: “past, present and future of Latin America education and research in business and public administration in the current global context”. The organization was hosted by the Getulio Vargas Foundation, with Ronaldo Couto Parente, as chair; Flávio Carvalho de Vasconcelos and Alvaro Cyrino, as program co – chairs of the event, respectively.
The Assembly of Members was held during the meeting, where Roberto Solano assumed the Presidency of our network and Elsa Del Castillo was elected as President Elect of CLADEA for the period 2014-2015. Additionally, the incorporation of 12 new schools and institutions to our network was approved. It should be stated, that during the call for dissertation projects, more than 50 doctoral theses were presented.
In parallel, the X Meeting of the Group of Directors of Information Centers of CLADEA was held, the main subject of which was: A decade Managing knowledge and information in the Business Schools of CLADEA. The meeting of the Group included the participation of representatives from Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela and Uruguay. The program included keynote speeches from professors of the Getulio Vargas Foundation – FGV and information professionals of Latin America, as well as visits to Information Centers, Libraries and Cultural Centers of the city.
